ACGA spoke at Korea Premium Weeks

2026-09-28

On 28 September, Yura Ahn spoke on the corporate governance panel at Korea Premium Weeks 2026, hosted by the Financial Services Commission and Korea Exchange. Her key points included:

• Tight AGM timelines limit informed voting. A two-week AGM notice period, audit reports released about a week before the meeting, and heavy AGM clustering leave foreign investors, who vote through complex custody chains, with little time for analysis. English versions of AGM notices and reference materials remain limited.

• Limited opportunities for foreign investors to submit opinions for policy consultations. Rules that directly affect them, such as the Stewardship Code revision and the dual listing regime, are often published only in Korean, with short comment periods.

• The next step for the "Korea Premium". Yura called for English publication of major regulatory proposals with adequate consultation periods, and an AGM notice period of at least four weeks, so that investor interest translates into longterm investment and engagement.
