Asia Sustainability Symposium in Tokyo

ACGA participated in the Asia Sustainability Symposium on 9 April organised by the Securities Analysts Association of Japan in Tokyo. Amar Gill, Secretary General, spoke alongside ACGA members Jeanne Stampe of Norges Bank Investment Management and Shizuko Ohmi of JPM Asset Management on a panel to discuss “From Policy to Practice: ISSB Standards in Asia and Investor Perspectives.” The symposium was opened by a keynote speech by Toshitake Inoue, Director General of the Policy and Markets Bureau of Financial Services Agency, Japan (JFSA) as well as a second keynote by Emmanuel Faber, Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) with a closing address by ISSB board member, Hiroshi Komori. We welcome the rollout of ISSB standards across Asia allowing for comparability of disclosures, which we underscored should be coupled with cross-market standardization on sustainability assurance standards.
