On 27 February 2025, Amar Gill, Secretary General of ACGA and Stephanie Lin, Research Head of Korea and Singapore gave a presentation to members of the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID), providing an overview of corporate governance regulatory changes across the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on Japan, Korea, China and Singapore, emphasizing their implications for corporate boards to focus on shareholder value. This covered a range of significant initiatives, including Japan's FSA Action Program, Korea's Value-Up Program and Boost-Up Project, China's market value management measures, and Singapore's value-centric approach. Recognizing corporate governance as a catalyst for shareholder value creation rather than merely a compliance obligation is somewhat of a paradigm shift!
