ACGA Submission to SEBI: Response to Consultation Paper on Secretarial Compliance, Auditor Appointments, and Related Party Transactions

On Tuesday 25 February 2025, ACGA provided feedback on 16 specific proposals, generally supporting  Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)'s efforts to enhance transparency and governance while suggesting phasing in some requirements as well as extending consultation period from current 4 weeks to provide time for thorough analysis. Key points include support for enhanced disclosure requirements, clarifications on auditor appointments, and recommendations for addressing potential loopholes in related party transaction rules, particularly concerning royalty payment.
