As part of the celebration programme to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Companies Registry of Hong Kong held a one-day conference entitled "Corporate Governance Roundtable" on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong. It was a timely opportunity to engage regulators, business leaders and professionals in a discussion about the latest developments in the management of companiesm such as corporate transparency, effective board leadership and risk management.
ACGA Secretary General Jamie Allen spoke on a panel discussing the topic of "Managing Risks in a Changing Environment". He shared his insights into how companies react to an ever-changing regulatory environment and also highlighted the corporate governance reforms in other jurisdictions.
Other speakers included Mark McKeown, Group General Manager and Chief Risk Officer, Asia Pacific Region, HSBC, and David Graham, Chief Regulatory Officer and Head of Listing, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.
