ACGA's Jamie Allen wins IFLR Asia-Pacific market reform award

2022-03-17

We are delighted to share the news that ACGA Secretary General Jamie Allen is this year's recipient of the Market Reform Award from IFLR Asia-Pacific. Jamie is being recognised for his work in developing market frameworks to improve the investment landscape.

Speaking at a virtual awards ceremony on 17 March 2022, Jamie thanked the publication for recognising ACGA's work over the past 20 years. "ACGA was founded in the late 1990s following the Asian Financial Crisis and through independent research and advocacy has sought to address systemic weaknesses in corporate governance and related areas, such as financial regulation, public governance, and accounting and auditing.

"We believe progress has been made in many areas and that capital markets, on balance, are better regulated, more transparent, and fairer than two decades ago. Numerous challenges remain, not least new secondary listings with lower disclosure standards, expanding ESG risks, and the need to adapt boards to manage the uncertainties of climate change.

"ACGA looks forward to contributing to a deeper understanding of these and other governance challenges over the next two decades."
