ACGA advocacy in Korea began in late 2009 with a joint letter, drafted with members, to the Ministry of Justice and opposing a plan to introduce poison pills (following Japan's lead at the time). Two years later, we led a delegation of ACGA members to Korea and then contributed input on CG reform to the Korea Exchange and Korea Securities Depository. In early 2014, we worked with members to draft a letter to more than 25 major chaebols on the issue of investors being forced to vote on unaudited annual accounts at AGMs. Since 2016, we led member delegation to Korea every year.
