Regarded as perhaps Hong Kong’s most important ESG consultation in recent years, the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC)’s consultation on the city’s sustainability assurance framework closed on 30 March 2026. 

We are pleased to share ACGA’s response to this significant consultation. ACGA broadly supports all the five proposals set out in AFRC’s consultation paper. However, considerable work remains to develop detailed criteria, operational guidance and mechanisms to ensure the proposed framework evolves alongside international best practice.
