On March 9, we held our first ACGA Investor Discussion Group (AIDG) meeting of 2010 for our members in Asia, Europe and North America via conference call.
The agenda for this meeting was:
- Japan:
- Update on new rules from the FSA and TSE;
- Letter to FSA on rule changes;
- Draft ACGA Voting Guidelines on Independent Directors in Japan; and
- Timing of ACGA delegation to Tokyo in Q3 2010.
- India:
- Follow up to "India White Paper"; and
- Timing of ACGA delegation to India in the second half of 2010.
- Taiwan:
- Outline of "Taiwan White Paper";
- Letter to large-cap Taiwanese companies on shareholder voting;
- Letter of support to the Philippine Stock Exchange on the "Maharlika Board";
- Follow-up to the poison pill letter to the MOJ in Korea and the Ministry's reply;
- HKEx soft consultation with ACGA members on connected transaction rules;
- Anomalous voting at the recent Fraser & Neave AGM in Singapore.
